Overview

SEO Metriks All-in-One SEO ("the App") is a Shopify app operated by EXENLABS ("we," "us"). The App helps merchants audit and improve their store's SEO — fixing meta tags and alt text, generating content with AI, tracking search rankings, and connecting real Google Search Console and Analytics data. This policy explains what personal information the App collects, why, and how it's handled.

Personal information we collect

When you install the App, we receive your Shopify account information from Shopify: your store name and domain, your name and email address as registered with Shopify, and your app subscription and billing status.

Through your store's Admin API, the App also accesses your products, pages, collections, and their SEO fields (titles, descriptions, images, alt text, URL handles), your theme files (to check whether app blocks like the FAQ block are installed), and your script tags and online store navigation.

Some features are opt-in and involve data you explicitly provide or connect:

  • Google account connection — if you connect Google Search Console or Google Analytics, we store an encrypted access token to fetch your search and traffic data on your behalf. You can disconnect this at any time.
  • Weekly summary email — if enabled, the recipient email address(es) you provide are used only to send your weekly SEO summary.
  • Feature requests — anything you submit through the in-app feedback form.

The App does not request or hold any permission to access your customers' personal data. Its Shopify access scopes do not include customer information of any kind, and it does not place any tracking cookies, pixels, or scripts on your storefront that would collect data from your customers or site visitors. The only cookie the App itself sets is a session cookie required for you to stay logged into the App inside Shopify admin.

How we use this information

We use the information above to operate and provide the App's features to you, respond to your support requests and feature suggestions, monitor and improve the App, and communicate with you about your account, billing, and changes to the App. We do not use your data to market unrelated products or services to you, and we do not sell your data.

Data sharing

To provide its features, the App sends limited data to the following processors:

  • DataForSEO — processes keyword, ranking, backlink, and competitor data (your store's domain and search terms you choose to check, not customer data)
  • AI content providers (via DataForSEO's AI Optimization API and CometAPI) — product titles and descriptions are sent to generate AI content (meta tags, alt text, blog posts, FAQs) and to check whether AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity mention your store
  • Google APIs — PageSpeed Insights (public, no account needed), and Search Console/Analytics (only if you connect your account)
  • Resend — delivers the weekly summary email, only if you enable that feature
  • Crisp — powers the in-app live chat widget, if you use it to contact support

None of these processors receive your customers' personal data, because the App never has access to it in the first place. We may also share information if required to do so by law, or to comply with a legal process.

Targeted advertising

We do not use your data for targeted or behavioral advertising, and we do not share it with anyone for that purpose. No opt-out is necessary because this doesn't happen in the first place.

Your rights, including under GDPR

Depending on where you're located, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you. You can exercise any of these rights at any time by contacting us at hello@exenlabs.com.

If you're located in the European Economic Area, be aware that the processors listed above (DataForSEO, our AI content providers, Google, Resend, and Crisp) are based outside the EEA, so data shared with them involves a transfer outside Europe. Each of these providers maintains its own safeguards for handling that data.

Since the App does not access your customers' personal data, any data request from one of your customers should be directed to your own store's data-handling process, not to us.

Data retention & deletion

We retain your store's data for as long as the App is installed. When you uninstall the App, we begin removing your data immediately, and Shopify's mandatory compliance process ensures all remaining data is fully erased within 48 hours of uninstall, across every system we operate.
